When you’ve finished your tea, what do you do with the bag? Most people just throw their tea bags away, but there are actually a number of different uses for tea bags out there. Before you toss yours in the bin, consider some of the potential uses listed below.
Facial Rejuvenation
If you’re suffering from sinus troubles, an illness, or anything else that is causing your face to puff up, you can use tea bags to soothe your face. This is especially useful around the eye area. First, let the used tea bags dry out. Second, soak them in ice water. You can then lie down and place the bags over your eyes. This will rejuvenate your face and soothe puffiness. In some cases, it has been known to cure a case of conjunctivitis.
Cleaning
Tea can be used to remove grease and dirt from certain surfaces. If you let your used tea bags steep in cold water for a while, you can use the results as a simple cleaning solution. This works for counter tops, mirrors, and windows. If you want some more disinfecting power, just add a little bit of gentle dish detergent. This gives you an easy as well as affordable cleaning solution that contains no harmful chemicals or abrasive substances.
Deodoriser
Tea tends to have a pleasant smell to it, and one of the popular tea bag uses out there involves using that smell to counteract some of the more unpleasant odours that you might find around the house. This includes old shoes, the inside of cupboards, or used dishes. Simply place the used tea bags in these areas and let their pleasant odour freshen the air in your home. This will leave your home with a delightful scent - even in places that normally smell bad.
Art Projects
You can use your old tea bags as a way to create interesting works of art. The colour from used tea bags can be used to stain paper if they are pressed softly on to its surface. This can also be used as a way to supplement watercolours or even oil paints. With just a little bit of effort, you can use your tea bags to turn a blank piece of paper or white canvas into something unique and visually appearing. The longer you practice at this, the more creative you will become.
Wart Removal
Believe it or not, tea bags can be used to remove warts and other unsightly skin blemishes. If you soak the tea bags in hot water and then let it cool to the point that they are comfortable on your skin, you can then place the warm tea bags on the wart or blemish. Keep the teabag there for 20 to 30 minutes. After using this treatment a few times throughout the course of a week, your warts will be a thing of the past.
There are many different uses for tea bags, ranging from art to health aids. Before you throw out your used tea bags, take a few moments to consider these uses and see how convenient they can really be!
