Thirsty work at National Star!
April 23rd, Gloucestershire UK - Gloucestershire based hydration company, WaterCoolersDirect.com is supporting local charity National Star, Ullenwood, who help disabled people realise their potential through personalised learning, transition and lifestyle services.
WaterCoolersDirect has generously donated 500 bottles of water to keep everyone’s thirst properly quenched during the National Star’s ‘Harvey 100’ a 100k cycle ride event, led by Dr Dawn Harper from Channel 4’s Embarrassing Bodies which goes through the Cotswolds on Sunday 27th April. The event will see 150 cyclists ride through the beautiful countryside while raising funds for National Star. Any left overs will be used the charity’s next event, the ‘Thriller Run’, in which participants are chased by 100 zombies as they endure a 5k run through obstacles, on Friday 13th June at National Star.
Good hydration for participants at sporting events is essential. WaterCoolersDirect, managing director Fred Cairns Palmer commented: “Even with all the scientific advances in the drinks industry, nobody has found a suitable substitution for water to hydrate. Despite this fact, very few people tend to drink enough pure water during the day. We’re delighted to support National Star, a truly great and local Gloucestershire organisation. We’ve donated bottled water to help everyone at the upcoming sporting events.”
Additionally WaterCoolersDirect has donated a freestanding water cooler which is targetted to be used at one of our students facilities.
“If the National Star College don’t have to buy water – hopefully this will mean more funds raised for the excellent work they do helping children and young adults in our county,” he continued.
Clare Skivington, partnership manager at National Star added: “We are really grateful for the donation of the bottled water and hope that this is the start of a long partnership with WaterCoolersDirect. We aim to raise £15,000 from the event, so donations such as these bottles really make a difference in helping us reach that target.”
